Sycamore Energy Law, P.C. is seeking a Paralegal/Legal Assistant to provide legal and administrative support to lead attorney, primarily regarding renewable energy project finance and M&A transactions. The successful candidate will have experience as a paralegal or assistant in a legal office. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a positive attitude, strong written and oral communication skills, demonstrated ability to think critically and ask questions as they arise, the ability to work well on a team, and a dedicated work ethic. Training will mainly be on-the-job, with regular communication and feedback from lead attorney.
The Paralegal/Legal Assistant will report directly to the lead attorney and is expected to work out of the company’s Santa Monica, CA location, though the option to work remotely may be available depending on the candidate’s experience. Client relationships are paramount to our practice and the Paralegal/Legal Assistant is expected to honor the confidential nature of all project work.
Primary job responsibilities include
- Provide administrative support to lead attorney and clients, including various clerical tasks, sending emails, maintaining appointment schedules and meetings and organizing filing systems.
- Gather necessary documents and information to assist lead attorney with drafting and documentation review.
- Provide diligence support on transactions.
- Review, proofread and execution support of legal documents at the direction of lead attorney.
- Conduct research in support of various projects and provide lead attorney succinct, organized summaries of research findings.
- Assist with contract lifecycle management and improving legal processes.
- Maintain confidentiality on all projects.
